Salary: $40.00 to $45.00 hourly for 32 to 44 hours per week
Employment Type: Part time leading to full time, Term or contract employment
Job Type: On the road job (Work locations may vary. Frequent or constant travel is required from the employee)
Location: 2256 Sheppard Avenue West suite 2nd Floor, North York, ON, M9M 1L7
Shifts: Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Shift and Overtime
Work setting: Home care and visiting care agency, nursing home/home for the aged and chronic or long-term care facilities/centres
Security and safety: Criminal record should checked, immunization records required and Tuberculosis test required
Transportation/travel information: Valid driver’s licence required and own transportation required
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a College/CEGEP
Experience: Candidates need experience of 1 year to less than 2 years
Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses: Candidates must have Eligible for licensure as a practical nurse by the province/territory of work, Intravenous (IV) therapy Certification, CPR Certificate and First Aid Certificate
Physical Requirements:
- The candidate should be able to work under pressure, in fast-paced environment, perform repetitive tasks, pay attention to detail and also stand for extended periods
- The candidate should be a combination of sitting, standing, walking
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should be able to work with being focused on the client, in a flexible environment, in an organized way and also take initiative
- The candidate should be dependable, reliable and also a team player
- The candidate should have efficient interpersonal skills, an excellent oral and written communication and also values and ethics
- The candidate should have specialization on Geriatrics, Medical unit, Palliative care, Psychiatry, Consulting and also Rehabilitation
Responsibilities:
- The candidate should be able to provide pre-operative and post-operative personal and comfort care, provide safety and health education to individuals and their families and also provide nursing services, within defined scope of practice, to patients based on patient assessment and care planning procedures
- The candidate should be able to monitor established respiratory therapy and intravenous therapy and also monitor patients’ progress, evaluate effectiveness of nursing interventions and consult with appropriate members of healthcare team
- The candidate should be able to administer medication and observe and document therapeutic effects and also take vital signs, apply aseptic techniques including sterile dressing, ensure infection control, monitore nutritional intake and conduct specimen collection
