Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of diploma Environmental Studies and Outdoor Education
Experience: Candidates should have at least 2 years of related programming and planning experience
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have at least 1 year of supervisory experience, a working knowledge of related legislation in the applicable area of discipline
- The candidates should be proficient in MS Office, customer service skills and experience, strong written and oral communication skills
- The candidates should have a valid Ontario non-probationary Class G Driver’s Licence and access to a vehicle
- The candidates should have Standard First Aid and CPR certification, be aware that mandatory requirements are dependent upon the primary focus of the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to supervise and manage staff, including contract, part-time, and volunteer personnel, overseeing work duties, scheduling, adherence to City policies and procedures Health and Safety), and payroll documentation
- The candidates should be able to recruit, train, and coach staff and volunteers, providing performance evaluation feedback and implementing disciplinary actions
- The candidates should be able to evaluate staff training needs and arrange for training initiatives, particularly concerning qualifications and certifications, provide hands-on assistance and decision-making support
- The candidates should be able to interact with customers to ensure program delivery meets customer expectations and service standards, assist staff in problem-solving and ensure timely follow-up and completion of documentation regarding accidents, incidents, or customer concerns and requests
- The candidates should be able to meet with community groups to foster community stewardship skills and environmental engagement, provide data such as customer statistics on usage, attendance, revenue, fill rates, and other important measures to the Coordinator and others
- The candidates should be able to provide input to the budgeting process, including monthly forecasting and monitoring of revenues, expenditures, and net, report on trends, emerging issues, and potential areas of growth, maintain staff and volunteer data regarding certifications and training
- The candidates should be able to develop and deliver various Parks programming, outreach, and education programs, assist with the preparation and proofing of materials related to marketing programs, ensure supplies are adequate for program delivery ensure that programs offered are of excellent quality
- The candidates should be able to use awareness of emerging customer requirements to make recommendations for improvements and future programs and conduct program visits, focus groups, and surveys to collect information and ensure quality control
- The candidates should be able to interpret reports in terms of appropriate changes and areas of growth and liaise with other municipalities for benchmarking comparisons, provide direct program services and maintain a safe and clean facility
