Salary: $20.00 to $24.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 35 to 40 hours per week

Shifts: Day, Early Morning, Morning
Transportation information: Public transportation is available
Work setting: Child care centre

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Credentials: Emergency child care first aid and CPR, and Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be proficient in handling repetitive tasks
  • The candidates should be physically fit to meet the demands of a physically demanding job
  • The candidates should have attention to detail
  • The candidates should be comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
  • The candidates should be able to lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest, providing opportunities to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music, and physical activity
  • The candidates should be able to guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits, observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems, and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors
  • The candidates should have knowledge of licensing regulations, establish guidelines for behavior, assess the abilities, interests, and needs of children, and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members
  • The candidates should be able to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children, plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children
