Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as college, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 7 month
Area of work experience: Community service organization
Credentials: Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate and Safe Food Handling Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal Record Check and Medical Exam
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to pay attention to detail and work in a fast-paced environment
- The candidates should be able to handle physically demanding tasks and perform repetitive tasks
- The candidates should be able to stand for extended periods and work under pressure
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be organized, reliable, and a team player
- The candidates should be skilled in time management
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to determine the size of food portions and costs and plan menus and estimate food requirements for their realization
- The candidates should be able to prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods and prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
- The candidates should be able to inspect kitchens and food service areas and train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food and order supplies and equipment
- The candidates should be able to supervise kitchen staff and helpers and maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
- The candidates should be able to clean kitchen and work areas
