Lazy S Ranch Inc based in Mayerthorpe, AB is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Beef cattle herdsperson. Lazy S Ranch Inc is a 1000 head cow-calf operation that’s been in the beef business for 50 years. Our cowherd has been a work in progress for the past 48 years…retaining the top end replacement heifers and putting them back into our cowherd for four and half decades. We are a seed-stock operation that annually markets 200 plus breeding bulls in our annual Bull Power Sale the last Saturday of January. We are known to provide satisfaction to our customers, that they don’t have to go to any one else after getting the best services from us. We hire foreign workers to fill labour or skill shortages on a temporary basis. The candidates who will get selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible. This position of General Farm Worker is approved by LMIA.

Work Setting: Staff accommodation is available, rural area and remote location
Work Site Environment: Candidates should work in Beef cattle ranching and farming, including feedlots
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language.
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates need experience of 2 years to less than 3 years
Equipment and Machinery Experience: Candidates must have knowledge of feeding and watering system
Physical Requirements:

Responsibilities:

- The candidate should be able to monitoring animal health
- The candidate should be able to provide agricultural livestock services such as artificial insemination, spraying or shearing of livestock or disinfecting pens, barns or poultry houses
- The candidate should be able to carry out a pasture or pen breeding programs
- The candidate should be able to formulate feeding program
- The candidate should be able to maintain livestock performance records
- The candidate should be able to recognize and treat certain livestock health problems
- The candidate should be able to maintain work records and logs
- The candidate should be able to operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
- The candidate should be able to perform general farm duties
