Alberta Council of Turnaround Industry Maintenance Stakeholders based in Fort Saskatchewan, AB is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Boilermaker. Alberta Council of Turnaround Industry Maintenance Stakeholders is known to comprise oil sands owners, heavy industrial maintenance contractors, and labour providers. We have a goal to ensure that the owner stakeholder’s turnarounds and ongoing maintenance projects are fully staffed with skilled, qualified, experienced, professional tradespeople. We comprise of an equal number of senior representatives from stakeholder owners, contractors, and labour provider groups. The candidates who will get selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible. The position of Boilermaker is approved by LMIA.

Location: Fort Saskatchewan, AB
Shifts: Day, Night, Weekend
Work Setting: Maintenance, Repair, Oil refinery and petrochemical plant

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language.
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualification such as other trades certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates needs an experience of 3-5 years
Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses: Boilermaker Trade Certification, Boilermaker Red Seal Certificate, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate, First Aid Certificate, Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS), Certificate, Driver’s License
Area of Specialization: Dust collecting system, Precipitators, Pressure vessels, Tanks, Stacks, towers and furnaces
Security and Safety: Basic security clearance, Drug test
Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidate should be able to work in a fast-paced environment and work with tight deadlines
  • The candidate should be able to handle heavy loads and pay attention to detail
  • The candidate should be physically demanding and a combination of standing for extended periods, bending, crouching and kneeling

Responsibilities:

  • The candidate should be able to instruct apprentices
  • The candidate should be able to read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings and specifications
