Salary: $18.00 to $20.00 hourly (to be negotiated) for 20 to 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Casual employment Part time leading to full time
Location: 8056 King George Blvd, Surrey, BC V3W 5B5
Shifts: Day, Evening, Weekend, Shift, On Call, Morning
Work setting: Bake shop, Café
Supervision: 1 to 2 people
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 2 to less than 3 years
Food specialties: Breads and rolls, Desserts and pastries, Wedding and specialty cakes, Cake decorating
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, be physically demanding, and repetitive taskers
- The candidates should be able to work with attention to detail
- The candidates should be able to work under tight deadlines
- The candidates should be able to stand for extended periods
- The candidates should be able to handle Hand-eye coordination and distinguish between colours
- The candidates should be able to handle heavy loads
- The candidates should be able to do manual dexterity
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should be accurate, client focus, dependable, reliable, and judgmental
- The candidates should have excellent oral communication, excellent written communication, and be able to work as a team player
Candidate Status:
- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
- If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls, and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies, and cakes, and icings and frostings according to recipes or special customer orders
- The candidates should be able to bake mixed dough and batters
- The candidates should be able to prepare special orders
- The candidates should be able to frost and decorate cakes and baked goods and ensure that the quality of products meets established standards
- The candidates should be able to inspect the kitchen and food service areas
- The candidates should be able to operate machinery and organize and maintain inventory
