Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a College/CEGEP
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 7 months to less than 1 year
Credentials: Child development assistant (ECE level 1), Child development worker (ECE level 2), Emergency child care first aid and CPR, and Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate

Candidate Status:

  • Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
  • International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
  • The candidates should be able to lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest, and guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits
  • The candidates should be able to observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems, assess the abilities, interests, and needs of children, and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors
  • The candidates should be able to discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members, establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children, and plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children
