Chanoey’s Pasta based in Dartmouth, NS is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Cook. Chanoey’s Pasta is one of the best restaurants of the town, serving up delectable dishes to the customers at a reasonable price. Our main goal is to introduce a new menu every season Often made from fresh ingredients. Our restaurant is owned and managed by two 26-year olds with both having experience in culinary and business management. We also try to managing our mobile cafe game. The candidates who will get selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates need experience of 1 year to less than 2 years

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidate should be able to work under pressure, work overtime, in fast-paced environment, pay attention to detail, handle heavy loads, perform repetitive tasks and also stand for extended periods
  • The candidate should be physically strong

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should be able to work with being focused on the client, in an organized way and also take initiative
  • The candidate should be dependable, someone who can judge, reliable and also a team player
  • The candidate should have excellent oral communication

Responsibilities:

  • The candidate should be able to prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods and also prepare and cook special meals for patients as instructed by dietitian or chef
  • The candidate should be able to plan menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies, inspect kitchens and food service areas, order supplies and equipment, maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment, clean kitchen and work areas, organize and manage buffets and banquets and also manage kitchen operations
  • The candidate should be able to train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food, supervise kitchen staff and helpers and also recruit and hire staff
