Wee Ones Childcare Academy based in Milton, ON is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Daycare helper. Wee Ones Childcare Academy is a family centered play based daycare, where all families are treated like family. We are an inclusive and diverse centre that has adopted Ontario’s pedagogy for the early learning years and is structured around the 4 foundations (belonging, well-being, engagement, and expression) that are considered essential for optimal learning and healthy development of the child. The candidates who will get selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Supervision: 5-10 people
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years’
Security and safety: Basic security clearance
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be physically demanding
- The candidates should be able to work with attention to detail
- The candidates should be able to bend, crouch, and kneel for extended periods
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be punctual, dependable, flexible, and reliable
- The candidates should have excellent oral communication and excellent written communication, and be able to work as a team player
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs and taking children to local points of interest, support early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
- The candidates should be able to engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing crafts, guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
- The candidates should be able to maintain daycare equipment and assist in housekeeping and cooking duties, observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor
- The candidates should be able to submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors, discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings
- The candidates should be able to plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children, supervise and co-ordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants
