Shifts: Day, Evening, Night, Weekend and Morning
Security and safety: Basic security clearance required, driver’s validity licence should checked, driving record should checked (abstract), drug test required and medical exam required
Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
Own tools/equipment: Candidates should have hard hat and steel-toed safety boots
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates need experience of 1 year to less than 2 years
Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses: Candidates must have AZ class license, Air Brakes Endorsement, Air Brake (Z) Endorsement, Commercial Vehicle Operator’s Registration (CVOR) Certificate, Driver’s License (Class 1 or A), Driver’s License (Class 3 or D) and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
Type of trucking and equipment: Dump truck, Extended length tractor-trailer combination, Straight truck (4,600kg+ or 10,000lbs+ with 3+ axles) and Tractor-trailer
Physical Requirements:
- The candidate should be able to pay attention to detail, handle heavy loads, perform repetitive tasks and also sitting
- The candidate should be physically strong
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should be able to work in a flexible environment and also in an organized way
- The candidate should be someone who can judge, reliable, a team player and also have efficient interpersonal skills
- The candidate should have documentative knowledge of accident or incident reports, driver logbook, inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), maintenance and repair reports and also trip reports
- The candidate should have experience of transportation or travel like local tranport
Responsibilities:
- The candidate should be able to load and unload goods
- The candidate should be able to operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment, receive and relay information to central dispatch, record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption and also tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo
- The candidate should be able to perform emergency roadside repairs, perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle and also perform preventive maintenance
