Salary: $19.85 hourly for 40 hours per week

Shifts: Day, Flexible Hours
Transportation information: Own transportation
Work setting: Child care centre, urban area, and relocation costs not covered by employer
Supervision: 5-10 people

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided
Experience with special needs children: Children with a physical disability, children with behavioral issues, children with allergies, children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) or attention deficit disorder (ADD), and children with epilepsy
Credentials: First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check, Immunization records and Vulnerable sector check

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be comfortable working outdoors and in noisy environments as part of their responsibilities
  • The candidates should be aware that the work environment is non-smoking and be able to work in air-conditioned spaces when necessary
  • The candidates should be accustomed to performing repetitive tasks as part of their responsibilities and be physically fit to meet the demands of a physically demanding role
  • The candidates should be adaptable to a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, and be proficient in tasks involving bending, crouching, and kneeling

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should demonstrate punctuality, consistently arriving on time for work and commitments
  • The candidates should exhibit dependability, reliably fulfilling assigned tasks and responsibilities
  • The candidates should show flexibility, adapting to changing circumstances and tasks
  • The candidates should exercise good judgment in decision-making and problem-solving
  • The candidates should be reliable, consistently meeting commitments and expectations
  • The candidates should be a team player, collaborating effectively with colleagues
  • The candidates should uphold values and ethics in all aspects of their work

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers, engaging in storytelling and supporting early childhood educators in promoting children’s development
  • The candidates should be able to assist in keeping records, engage children in activities through storytelling, songs, and crafts, and maintain daycare equipment
  • The candidates should be able to submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors, discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings, and attend staff meetings for these discussions
  • The candidates should be able to plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours, as well as supervise and coordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants
