Job Description:

Salary: $26.00 to $28.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 35 to 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Surrey, BC
Shifts: Day

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as other trades certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children, supervise staff, trainees or volunteers, and synthesize the overall situation of the children and communicate the information to the parents
  • The candidates should be able to lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs and taking children to local points of interest, encourage children to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity, and engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing crafts
  • The candidates should be able to observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisors, submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors, and discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings
  • The candidates should be able to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children and plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children
