Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English or French Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a College/CEGEP
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Credentials: Emergency child care first aid and CPR, Food allergy and anaphylaxis training, Member of the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE), Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate, First Aid Certificate, and CPR Certificate
Security and safety: Medical exam, Immunization records, Tuberculosis test, Bondable, and Vulnerable sector check
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to work in noisy environments and in air-conditioned environments
- The candidates should be non-smokers
- The candidates should be physically fit for demanding tasks, capable of handling repetitive tasks, and demonstrate attention to detail
- The candidates should be comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, able to bend, crouch, and kneel as required, and possess manual dexterity

- Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
- Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada

Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers, develop and implement child-care programs supporting physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development, and engage in storytelling
- The candidates should be able to supervise staff, trainees, or volunteers, assist early childhood educators in program execution, and lead activities like storytelling, singing, and local outings
- The candidates should be able to order supplies and equipment, assist in record-keeping, and encourage children’s creativity through art, play, music, and physical activity
- The candidates should be able to engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts, guide proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits, and maintain daycare equipment
- The candidates should be able to prepare snacks, arrange rooms for lunch and rest, and observe children for signs of learning or behavioral problems, preparing reports for parents or supervisors
- The candidates should be able to discuss progress and problems at staff meetings, understand regulations like the Day Nurseries Act, and establish behavior guidelines
- The candidates should be able to assess children’s abilities and needs, attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems, and establish collaborative relationships with co-workers and service providers
- The candidates should be able to plan and maintain an environment that protects children’s health, security, and well-being, and organize activities for school-age children before and after school
- The candidates should be able to supervise and coordinate activities of other early childhood educators and assistants
