Work setting: Nursery school, kindergarten, and day care centre or nursery school
Requirements:
Languages:Â Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as college, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Credentials: Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be capable of handling repetitive tasks
- The candidates should demonstrate a high level of attention to detail
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be punctual in their work attendance and possess efficient interpersonal skills
- The candidates should have excellent oral communication skills and possess excellent written communication abilities

Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children
- The candidates should engage in storytelling and lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs, and taking children to local points of interest
- The candidates should engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts
- The candidates should guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits
- The candidates should observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors
- The candidates should assess the abilities, interests, and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members
- The candidates should establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
- The candidates should plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security, and well-being of children
- The candidates should plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours
