Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English or French Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience, Montessori teacher education
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Experience with special needs children: Children who are deaf or hard of hearing, Children with a mental health disability, Children with a physical disability, Children with an intellectual disability, Children with behavioural issues, Children with allergies, Children with asthma, Children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) or attention deficit disorder (ADD), Children with diabetes, Children with epilepsy, and Children with a genetic disorder
Specialization or experience: Green economy sector, and Specialized environmental skills and knowledge
Credentials: Child development assistant (ECE level 1), Child development supervisor (ECE level 3), Child development worker (ECE level 2), Emergency child care first aid and CPR, Food allergy and anaphylaxis training, Member of the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE), Plan to Protect training, Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate, First Aid Certificate, Montessori Early Childhood Teacher Certificate, CPR Certificate, Membership in a provincial or territorial teachers’ association or federation, and Provincial or Territorial Teaching Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check, Medical exam, and Immunization records
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be non-smokers
- The candidates should demonstrate attention to detail, be comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, and be capable of bending, crouching, and kneeling as needed
- The candidates should possess manual dexterity, be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and work effectively under pressure
- The candidates should be able to stand for extended periods

Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to assess the children’s development to prepare a tailored learning plan, engage children in storytelling, and supervise staff, trainees, or volunteers
- The candidates should be able to develop and implement child-care programs supporting children’s development, maintain daycare equipment, and synthesize children’s situations for parents
- The candidates should be able to assist early childhood educators in program implementation, lead activities, order supplies, and encourage children’s creativity
- The candidates should be able to guide children in habits development, prepare snacks, observe signs of problems, and discuss progress at staff meetings
- The candidates should be knowledgeable about licensing regulations, establish behavior guidelines, and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and service providers
- The candidates should be able to plan and maintain a safe environment, organize activities for school-age children, and supervise other educators and assistants.
- The candidates should be able to teach using various methods, prepare and administer tests, and monitor students’ progress and development
- The candidates should be able to identify individual learning needs, develop course content, and assist with classroom inventory
- The candidates should be able to supervise teaching assistants, assist with student integration, and support students with special needs
- The candidates should be able to assist students with assignments, monitor progress, and operate audio-visual equipment under the teacher’s guidance
