Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completed 2-year diploma
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Forensic Video Analyst
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be results-focused with strong relationship-building skills and the ability to coach and develop others
- The candidates should be analytical thinkers and strong communicators, adaptable, thorough, and able to work effectively in a changing environment
- The candidates should be aware that the content of videos may be graphic in nature
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have professional designation or certification as a Forensic Video Analyst from the Law Enforcement and Emergency Services Video Association (LEVA); or successful completion of the LEVA Level 4 (Advanced Forensic Video Analysis & The Law) course
- The candidates should have previous experience in witness testimony and intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat Pro X
- The candidates should be proficient in forensic processing applications (Avid, InputAce, and Amped 5) and Photoshop and possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence (or provincial equivalent)
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to discern appropriate proprietary software programs for video analysis and evidence management
- The candidates should be able to locate and identify persons and objects of interest on video footage, ensuring accuracy in detection
- The candidates should be able to disseminate processed images or edited video clips to relevant parties
- The candidates should be able to attend crime scenes and recover video evidence, documenting records of analysis work for potential court testimony
- The candidates should be able to analyze, examine, digitize, and document a variety of digital multimedia files
- The candidates should be able to complete disclosure requests, convert videos, edit surveillance footage, and complete required documentation
- The candidates should be able to electronically disclose digital files and document all procedures according to protocol
- The candidates should be able to anticipate and monitor future video technology needs, staying ahead of advancements
- The candidates should be able to educate, advise, coach, or train contracted specialists and technical engineers
