Crown Cap based in Winnipeg, MB is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Fur cutter. Crown Cap began manufacturing textile headwear for the Western Canadian farm trade in 1934. We have many years of experience in this textile manufacturing industry and are well-known in the community. Salary: $13.50 to $16.00 hourly for 40 hours per week

Location: 1130 Wall Street, Winnipeg, MB, R3E 2R9
Work Setting: Textile manufacturer, fabric products manufacturer, fur products manufacturer, leather products manufacturer and clothing/textile manufacturing company


Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language.
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications such as a high school, bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided.

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidate should be able to pay attention to detail
  • The candidate should be a combination of sitting, standing, walking

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should be able to take initiative
  • The candidate should be able to work in an organized way
  • The candidate should have experience of equipment and mechinery like furrier knives and cutters and manual leather knives or cutters


  • The candidate should be able to cut fur skins according to specifications
  • The candidate should be able to operate machine or manually fabricate leather products
  • The candidate should be able to cut and prepare fabric, leather and fur samples
  • The candidate should be able to adjust cutting technique to type of fabric and style of garment
  • The candidate should be able to sort or match fur skins
  • The candidate should be able to select leather and cutting dies
  • The candidate should be able to position leather according to grain, flaws and stretch
