Froese Bros Farms Inc., based in Edberg, AB is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of General farm worker. We are a leading provider in grain and forage harvesting services to producers, cattle feeders, and dairymen across the great plains. We have the knowledge and ability to take care of your harvesting needs and the passion and personal touch to do it in a way that exceeds your expectations! Our harvesting crew is entirely made up of polite, well-dressed, and respectful citizens. The candidates who will get selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Shifts: Day and Morning

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language.
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications such as a high school, bachelor’s degree, certificate, or a diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, although having experience is an asset
Work Site Environment: Beef cattle ranching and farming, including feedlots, Chicken farming, Livestock combination farming, Other poultry farming, Outdoors, Wet/damp, Odours, Hot
Work Setting: Staff accommodation provided
Automated Systems Experience: Manure handling and storage, Egg gathering system

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidate should be able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • The candidate should be able to do repetitive tasks
  • The candidate should be able to handle heavy loads
  • The candidate should be able to do physically demanding
  • The candidate should be able to do attention to detail
  • The candidate should be able to stand for extended periods
  • The candidate should be able to do bending, crouching, and kneeling

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should be flexible
  • The candidate should be a team player

Responsibilities:

  • The candidate should be able to feed and tend animals
  • The candidate should be able to clean stables, barns, barnyards, and pens
  • The candidate should be able to detect disease and health problems in crops, livestock, and poultry
  • The candidate should be able to examine products for quality and prepare for the market
  • The candidate should be able to write daily basic progress reports
  • The candidate should be able to set and monitor water lines, airflow, and temperature in barns, pens, and chicken coops
