Round The Bend Farm is a working farm and educational non-profit farm. We are a living laboratory that cultivates, educates, and empowers people of all ages. Salary: $15.50 per hour for 60 hours per week
Employment Type: Full time, Seasonal employment
Location: Kinghorn, ON
Shifts: Day, Weekend, Early Morning and Morning
Work setting: Rural area
Work site environment: Candidates should work in other vegetables and melon farming (except potato), outdoors, wet or damp, noisy, odours, dusty, hot place
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications such as a high school, bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or a diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience, training will be provided.
Type of crops: Asparagus, Bell peppers, Cabbage, Carrots, Cauliflowers, Cucumbers, Garlic, Onions, Tomatoes and Zucchinis
Physical Requirements:
- The candidate should be able to work in fast-paced environment, maintain tight deadlines, perform repetitive tasks, handle heavy loads, pay attention to detail, able to distinguish between colours, sit, stand for extended periods, walk and also for bending, crouching, kneeling
- The candidate should be physically strong, a combination of sitting, standing, walking and also have hand-eye co-ordination
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should be able to work in a flexible environment and also in an organized way
- The candidate should be someone who can judge and also have efficient interpersonal skills
Responsibilities:
- The candidate should be able to hoe crops, plant, cultivate and irrigate crops and also harvest crops
- The candidate should be able for hand harvesting vegetables, suckering and also weeding
- The candidate should be able to examine produce for quality and prepare for market
