Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as degree, certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Equipment and machinery experience: Carrot seeder, Onion seeder, Onion transplanter, Tractor, Planting equipment, Tillage equipment

Physical Requirements:

The candidates should be experienced in other vegetables and melon farming (except potato) and be comfortable working outdoors
The candidates should be able to work in confined spaces and be capable of working in or on water
The candidates should be able to work at heights if required and in wet or damp conditions
The candidates should be able to handle potentially dangerous situations and be tolerant of odours
The candidates should be prepared to work in dusty environments and in hot conditions
The candidates should be able to work in noisy environments and in cold or refrigerated conditions
The candidates should thrive in a fast-paced environment and be prepared for repetitive tasks as part of their duties
The candidates should be able to work effectively under pressure and be capable of handling heavy loads as required
The candidates should be accustomed to working with tight deadlines and be physically capable of performing demanding tasks
The candidates should possess hand-eye coordination for precise tasks and have the ability to distinguish between colors if necessary for the role
The candidates should demonstrate attention to detail in their work and be able to stand for extended periods as required, capable of bending, crouching, and kneeling as needed
The candidates should have sound discrimination abilities to work effectively in noisy environments and be willing to work overtime when required
The candidates should be able to sit for extended periods as necessary and be comfortable with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking throughout their workday

Candidate Status:

Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada

Responsibilities:

The candidates should be able to apply the technique of hoeing between rows and clear fields of wood and stones
The candidates should be able to divide freshly harvested produce into marketable and non-marketable lots
The candidates should be able to grade vegetables and fruits into different grades according to size, shape, color, and volume to fetch a high price in the market
The candidates should be able to hand harvest vegetables, plant, cultivate, and irrigate crops, and weed
The candidates should be able to harvest crops, operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment, and examine the product for quality and its readiness for the market
