Salary: $17.46 to $21.04 hourly (to be negotiated) 15 to 37.5 hours per week

Work setting: Urban area, Nursing home/home for the aged
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Asset languages: Mandarin, Cantonese
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a trade certificate or diploma
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Credentials: First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate, Health Care Aide Certificate
Security and safety: The candidates should have clear criminal, immunization, tuberculosis test and records
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, be physically demanding, and a repetitive tasker
- The candidates should be able to work with attention to detail
- The candidates should be able to handle weight up to 23 kg (50 lbs.)
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be accurate, dependable, client focus, flexibility, initiative, and should have interpersonal awareness
- The candidates should be judgement, organized, and reliable
- The candidate should have excellent oral communication, efficient interpersonal skills, and be able to work as a team player
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to supply and empty bed pans, take patients’ blood pressure, temperature and pulse, serve meal trays and feed patients
- The candidates should be able to weigh, lift, turn and position patients, make beds and maintain patients’ rooms, supervise patients’ exercise routines
- The candidates should be able to administer suppositories, colonic irrigations and enemas, bathe, dress and groom patients, transport patients in wheelchair or stretcher
- The candidates should be able to answer call signals, collect specimens
- The candidates should be able to accompany patients on outside recreational activities and perform other duties related to patient care and comfort, administer first aid in emergency situations
