Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of High School Diploma
Experience: Candidates should have 5+ years of experience servicing construction equipment

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to operate in extreme outdoor working conditions
  • The candidates should be capable of working effectively with different personality types and all levels of associates
  • The candidates should be capable of troubleshooting and making minor mechanical repairs to equipment

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess a Heavy Duty Equipment Technician Red Seal certification and possess a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record
  • The candidates should have a , GED, Technical or Trade School education, or equivalent experience
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to diagnose and complete advanced mechanical repairs, including engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
  • The candidates should have the ability to read and understand technical repair and parts manuals for equipment, including mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and other components and strong work ethic
  • The candidates should possess knowledge and skills in light construction equipment maintenance, including small engines and hydraulics and familiarity with the construction field environment landscape, home building and remodeling
  • The candidates should have the ability to drive in a CMV capacity, including passing a company-administered road test and obtaining a DOT medical certificate and conduct preventive maintenance on equipment
  • The candidates should have a working knowledge of handheld technology (smartphone, laptop and tablet and Familiarity with inventory management is desirable

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to maintain a fleet of rental equipment at assigned store locations and diagnose problems with equipment to determine needed repairs and perform repairs to return equipment to rental-ready status
  • The candidates should be able to perform all types of repairs and maintenance on THD Rental equipment fleet, including addressing gas and diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, fuel systems, and brake systems
  • The candidates should be able to accomplish challenging diagnostic and repair work for the field technician team and prioritize repairs and service calls based on the daily review of the Down Equipment Report and communicate with the Regional Manager and communicate effectively with other technicians, store associates, and customers to understand mechanical problems and provide solutions and test equipment to validate that issues have been corrected
  • The candidates should be able to provide leadership to Mobile Service Technicians (MST) and communicate daily on priorities for addressing equipment and procure parts needed for repairs and maintain accurate parts inventory
  • The candidates should be able to document all work performed on equipment using the company technology platform and inspect equipment for proper security and ensure all trailer and equipment locks are in place and willing to be on call with a rotating schedule, including nights and weekends
  • The candidates should be able to train Field and Rental Center associates in the proper operation of equipment and large equipment operating procedures and interface with Home Depot managers to explain the large equipment program and address specific concerns
  • The candidates should be able to assist with equipment deliveries, pick-ups, and deployment to store locations, including performing Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDIs), delivering to the store, and training store associates on equipment operation
  • The candidates should be able to perform work at store locations, company shop locations, and job sites and any other duties assigned by the Regional Rental Manager or authorized person
