Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Records Management, Business Administration, or Information Management
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of two years of experience within the last four years in a health information or health informatics environment
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to occasionally move or lift objects weighing less than 10 lbs and regularly perform fine finger, precision work while operating a computer
- The candidates should be constantly required to sit at a desk with occasional opportunities to stand and walk about
- The candidates should have the ability to maintain visual concentration to generate reports, update databases and spreadsheets, and check statistical analysis for accuracy
- The candidates should have the proven ability to work with limited supervision in a dynamic work environment
- The candidates should demonstrate the ability to work effectively within a deadline-driven, team-oriented environment
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have current certification as an accredited Health Information Management Professional from the Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA)
- The candidates should have experience in quality improvement initiatives and possess knowledge of Health Records Management and database management
- The candidates should be familiar with change management principles and practices as they pertain to project management and demonstrate strong leadership and supervisory skills
- The candidates should be able to analyze reports effectively, strong oral and written communication skills and demonstrate effective problem-solving and analytical skills
- The candidates should demonstrate strong policy writing skills and a satisfactory record of work performance and attendance
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to lead and supervise a team of health record staff, ensuring effective program development within the HISI Department
- The candidates should be able to develop and implement standardized records management procedures and evaluate process efficiencies
- The candidates should be able to analyze and support the scanning software database system, monitoring registration kiosks and registration processes
- The candidates should be able to collaborate with clinical programs to enhance data quality and provide specialized developmental training to staff
- The candidates should be able to maintain internal processes, including auditing, and identify areas for quality improvement, implementing necessary changes
- The candidates should be able to manage payroll, scheduling, and track productivity within the department
- The candidates should be able to handle additional duties as required to support the smooth functioning of the department
