Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have enrollment in high school in Lynn Lake or surrounding communities
Experience: Candidates should possess relevant training and experience

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to spend long days in the field carrying a backpack with samples and equipment
  • The candidates should prioritize safety and actively promote safe and environmentally friendly practices with provided safety training
  • The candidates should possess the ability to carry out assigned tasks both in the core shack and in the field

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess good communication skills and the ability to collaborate as part of a team are essential qualities
  • The candidates should be able to independently transport themselves to and from the core shack located in Lynn Lake
  • The candidates should demonstrate an outstanding work ethic and strive to assist a geologist or university student in the core shack or the field
  • The candidates should have a strong work ethic and maintain a positive attitude

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to assist with a variety of geological activities at both the deposit- and regional-scale, including geochemical soil sampling, geological field mapping, prospecting, and core shack duties
  • The candidates should be able to conduct research, data compilation, and data entry for a variety of geological, geophysical and geochemical datasets
  • The candidates should be able to perform core docking and orientation, RQD Rock Quality Designation, magnetic susceptibility measurements and core photos
