Job Description:

Position: Labourer, meat-packing plant

Salary: $20.63 hourly for 32 to 45 hours per week
Employment Type: Full time, Term or contract employment
Location: Hanover, ON
Shifts: Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Overtime, Early Morning and Morning
Work setting: Meat processing and/or packing plant or establishment
Work site environment: Candidates should work in cold or refrigerated area
Weight handling: Up to 9 kg (20 lbs)
Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates need experience of 7 months to less than 1 year
Physical Requirements:
- The candidate should be able to work in fast-paced environment and also perform repetitive tasks
- The candidate should have hand-eye co-ordination
Responsibilities:
- The candidate should be able for food safety/handling skills
- The candidate should be able to transport raw materials, finished products and packaging materials and also remove filled containers from conveyors
- The candidate should be able to feed and unload processing machines, check products and packaging for basic quality defects and also assist process control and machine operators in performing their duties
- The candidate should be able to clean machines and immediate work areas
