Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualifications
Experience: Candidates should have experience in customer service

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have the physical ability to lift mail items weighing up to 22.7 kg (50 lb) and carry items weighing up to 15.9 kg (35 lb) regularly throughout the day
  • The candidates should have the ability to work in all types of weather and availability to be on-call, possibly evenings and weekends

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have a valid Class 5 or Class G driver’s licence with a safe driving record for at least 3 years
  • The candidates should have experience making deliveries or working as a driver and experience working in a production environment

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to start their day in the depot, sorting and preparing the day’s deliveries, load and drive a Canada Post postal vehicle
  • The candidates should be able to spend most of their day outside, delivering mail and packages by foot or by vehicle to customers on their route
  • The candidates should be able to return to the depot to unload the day’s incoming mail and packages for later delivery
  • The candidates should be able to work inside a sorting facility, sorting mail and packages and work various shifts, which may include evenings and nights and weekends
  • The candidates should be able to operate material handling equipment, receive and accept mail items, sort, scan, sequence, and batch mail items, transfer and dispatch parcels and packets
  • The candidates should be able to perform other postal clerk duties and complete reports and documentation
