Work setting: Office building, cleaning service company, various locations, health care institution, facility or clinic, hospital/medical facility or clinic, hotel, motel, resort, restaurant, and retail service establishment

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Own tools/equipment: Uniform and steel-toed safety boots
Credentials: Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
Security and safety: Basic security clearance, criminal record check, driving record check (abstract), and credit check

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should be non-smoking
• The candidates should be able to work in a fast-paced environment, meet tight deadlines, and perform repetitive tasks
• The candidates should be able to handle heavy loads, handle physically demanding tasks, and lift up to 9 kg (20 lbs) and up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
• The candidates should have attention to detail, be comfortable with bending, crouching, and kneeling, and be able to handle a combination of sitting, standing, and walking
• The candidates should be able to work overtime as required, be comfortable sitting, and be able to stand for extended periods and walk

Other Requirements:

• The candidates should be punctual, dependable, reliable, and have strong values and ethics
• The candidates should have a strong client focus, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral communication skills, and excellent written communication skills
• The candidates should be flexible, show initiative, have good judgment, be organized, and be a team player

Candidate Status:

• Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
• International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors, dust furniture, and vacuum carpeting, area rugs, draperies, and upholstered furniture
• The candidates should be able to make beds, change sheets, distribute clean towels and toiletries, and stock the linen closet
• The candidates should be able to clean, disinfect, and polish kitchen and bathroom fixtures and appliances, disinfect operating rooms and other areas, and pick up debris and empty trash containers
• The candidates should be able to handle and report lost and found items, attend to guests’ requests for extra supplies or other items, and provide basic information on facilities
• The candidates should be able to launder clothing and household linens, and clean changing rooms and showers
