Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of University Degree in Engineering
Experience: Candidates should have previous experience in maintenance-based roles within the public transit or transportation industries

  • The candidates should have strong organizational and multi-tasking skills, including the ability to perform under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have sound knowledge of engineering and maintenance principles, methods, and practices related to Light Rail Transit infrastructure, systems, and vehicles
  • The candidates should have the ability to review and understand maintenance records and logs, drawings, and other technical documents
  • The candidates should have experience with interpreting maintenance information to derive value for money
  • The candidates should have the ability to obtain information from numerous sources to analyze, prepare, and maintain progress schedules
  • The candidates should possess sound judgment, as well as good analytical, organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • The candidates should have excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with technical or professional staff and external stakeholders and research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • The candidates should have the ability to prepare detailed reports, deliver presentations, and chair working group meetings
  • The candidates should have a related discipline or a combination of education, training, and experience deemed equivalent
  • The candidates should be proficient in the use of computer software or applications related to the work Excel, Word, Outlook, Focus and Success Factors SAP

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to provide engineering and maintenance expertise for the TTC’s role in analyzing non-life cycle maintenance for Line 5 and Line 6, and identify trends related to the relationship between operations and maintenance performance
  • The candidates should be able to support Finance in analyzing associated costs for maintenance performed as per the standards for Line 5 and Line 6 infrastructure and future LRT programs, systems, and vehicles, including safety, security, facilities, structures, guideway, tunnels, waste, recycling, cleaning, and supplies
  • The candidates should be able to work in partnership with Metrolinx to support its Maintenance Assurance program, including verifying planned maintenance activities, coordinating major maintenance shutdowns, and reviewing maintenance activities and costs and participate in the TTC Customer Service Ambassador Program
  • The candidates should be able to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including professional and technical staff, to ensure appropriate visibility and transparency between Operator and Maintainer
  • The candidates should be able to demonstrate behaviors that support diversity, inclusion, and a respectful work environment, and adhere to TTC’s commitments under the Ontario Human Rights Code (OHRC) and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA)
