Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have a High School Diploma or completion of equivalent education
Experience: Candidates should have 5-10 years’ experience in construction or building maintenance
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have knowledge of WHMIS and Occupational Health and Safety legislation
- The candidates should have advanced proficiency in English is required, with other languages considered an asset
- The candidates should be able to provide a clear criminal record with vulnerable sector screening
- The candidates should have passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services, and care is essential
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to perform general maintenance duties and scheduled preventive maintenance work on physical facilities, equipment, and grounds
- The candidates should be able to demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills in plumbing, electrical, fire, and life safety systems
- The candidates should be able to assemble, move, deliver, set up, and pick up furniture and equipment
- The candidates should be able to perform general repair work on structures, patch, and paint any damaged walls
- The candidates should be able to assist the Plant, Building & Safety Manager in the inspection of buildings, grounds, and equipment; and carry out preventive maintenance program actions
- The candidates should be able to demonstrate experience in operating digital software systems
- The candidates should be able to possess knowledge and understanding of building mechanical systems, HVAC, power generation, plumbing, electrical, fire, and life safety, as well as medical systems
- The candidates should be able to request necessary materials, supplies, parts, and tools required and maintain control of storage and use
- The candidates should be able to take every precaution that is reasonable in the circumstances to ensure the health and safety of employees, residents, and all others in the workplace
