Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be comfortable with moderate sensory and physical demands, including pulling and tying up boats
- The candidates should be prepared for exposure to fuel smells and primarily marina environments
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have a background in the Marina industry, with prior experience working at a Marina and demonstrate proficiency with computer applications, including Activenet, POS modules, and Microsoft Office applications
- The candidates should possess knowledge of Parks and Marina By-laws and applicable Fees and Charges By-laws and “Clean Marine” environmental knowledge
- The candidates should hold Smart Serve certification and demonstrate awareness of Peel Health and food regulations
- The candidates should exhibit excellent customer service skills and knowledge of City of Mississauga corporate policies and procedures
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to oversee Marina staff, ensuring compliance with corporate policies, marina mandates, and daily operational functions
- The candidates should be able to manage staff direction, cash handling, business processes, and provide training and supervision for concessions staff
- The candidates should be able to maintain accurate records of marina functions, including activities, emails, business updates, and compliance with corporate mandates like cash handling
- The candidates should be able to ensure effective marina operations, including maintenance, boater and public correspondence, customer service, and adherence to health and safety standards
- The candidates should be able to oversee fuel dock operations, grounds maintenance, and building cleanliness, including washroom facilities
- The candidates should be able to enforce marina policies, procedures, applicable By-laws, and fees and charges, ensuring compliance with harbor rules and regulations
- The candidates should be able to manage food and beverage services, licensed patio operations, and transient boater check-in procedures
