Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should possess a valid Continuing Care Certification or Provincial Personal Care Workers course or equivalent
Experience: Candidates should have previous course in Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care, which would be an asset, and/or previous working experience with the elderly in long-term care or a senior living environment
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should have the ability to work a schedule of flexible hours
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should have a valid CPR & First Aid Certification
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to assist residents with hygiene and daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, oral care, skin care, meals, and mobilizing according to the work assignment
- The candidates should be able to collaborate with the resident and other members of the interdisciplinary team in the development of individualized Resident Care Plans
- The candidates should be able to assist residents and Culinary workers during mealtime
- The candidates should be able to assist in the planning and implementation of resident leisure activities on a daily basis
- The candidates should be able to clean resident rooms, server, and household common areas
- The candidates should be able to perform delegated nursing acts according to company policy and scope of practice
- The candidates should be able to document according to company policy
- The candidates should be able to communicate and report relevant information regarding resident care or safety to the Supervisor
