Target audience: Persons with Alzheimer’s disease, adults, convalescent, elderly, females, males, persons with a disability, persons with an intellectual disability, persons with mental health disabilities, persons with physical disabilities, and terminally ill

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 2 to less than 3 years 
Credentials: CPR certificate and First Aid certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check, confidential security clearance, basic security clearance, and reference required

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be non-smoking
  • The candidates should be capable of bending, crouching, and kneeling, and adapt to a combination of sitting, standing, and walking
  • The candidates should be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle heavy loads, willing to work overtime when required
  • The candidates should be physically fit for demanding tasks and capable of performing repetitive tasks, comfortable sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods, and working effectively under pressure

Candidate Status:

  • Canadian citizens and permanent or temporary foreign workers of Canada are eligible for this position
  • International Candidates who don’t have a valid Canadian work permit also can apply

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to administer bedside and personal care, including administering medications
  • The candidates should be able to assist clients in water (e.g., pools) and with bathing, personal hygiene, and regular exercise, such as walking
  • The candidates should be able to change non-sterile dressings, collect specimens, and provide infant care demonstrations to new parents
  • The candidates should be able to feed or assist in feeding, launder clothing and household linens, mend clothing, and perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties
  • The candidates should be able to plan therapeutic diets and menus, provide companionship, shop for food and household supplies, and prepare and serve nutritious meals, including cooking
