Salary: $18.72 hourly 50 hours per week

Location: Chilliwack, BC
Shifts: Day, Evening, Night, Weekend, Early Morning, Morning
Work setting: Rural area, Staff accommodation available
Supervision: 5-10 people

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Area of specialization: Agricultural livestock service, Poultry

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be physically demanding
  • The candidates should be able to work with attention to detail
  • The candidates should be able to work in tight deadlines
  • The candidates should be able to sit, stand, walk for extended periods
  • The candidates should be able to work in chicken farming, duck and geese farming, poultry farming, with livestock, and in poultry and egg production

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should be organized and should be able to work as a team player

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorized (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to handle animals
  • The candidates should be able to assist in the development and implementation of farm safety and bio-security procedures
  • The candidates should be able to provide agricultural livestock services such as artificial insemination, spraying or shearing of livestock or disinfecting pens, barns or poultry houses
  • The candidates should be able to co-ordinate and supervise the work of general farm workers and harvesting labourers
  • The candidates should be able to perform general farm duties
