Airconsol Aviation Services, ULC based in Wabush, NL is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Ramp services supervisor – airport. Airconsol Aviation Services, ULC offers a wide range of aviation support services to airlines, aircraft operators, and other aviation entities. Our expertise covers various aspects of aviation operations, including ground handling, passenger services, aircraft maintenance, fueling, cargo handling, and aircraft deicing. The candidates who will get selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Salary: $60,000 to $70,000 annually (to be negotiated) 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Wabush, NL
Shifts: 09:00 to 17:00
Transportation information: Valid driver’s license, Driver’s abstract, Own vehicle
Work setting: Transportation
Supervision: 16-20 people

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 2 to less than 3 years’
Credentials: Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate, Radio Operator Licence, First Aid Certificate, Forklift Operator Certification, CPR Certificate
Security and safety: Basic security clearance, Airport security clearance, Driver’s validity licence check, Criminal record check, Bondable
Vehicle and equipment experience: Aircraft cargo doors, De-icing sprayers, Lavatory servicing trucks, Passenger loading stairs, Towing tractors

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, and be physically demanding
  • The candidates should be able to work with attention to detail
  • The candidates should be able to work in tight deadlines
  • The candidates should be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, crouch, and kneel for extended periods
  • The candidates should be able to handle weight Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
  • The candidates should be able to handle heavy loads
  • The candidates should be able to work in noisy area, outdoors, and non-smoking area

Other Requirements:

  • The candidate should be accurate, client focus, dependable, organized, initiative, flexible, and reliable
  • The candidates should have excellent oral communication, excellent written communication, efficient interpersonal skills, and be able to work as a team player

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to establish work schedules and procedures, co-ordinate activities with other work units or departments, prepare and submit reports
  • The candidates should be able to ensure smooth operation of computer equipment and machinery, arrange for maintenance and repair work, resolve work-related problems
  • The candidates should be able to recruit and hire staff, train workers in duties and policies, arrange training for staff, conduct performance reviews
  • The candidates should be able to coordinate, assign and review work, requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies, plan, organize and oversee operational logistics of the organization, unload, sort and route cargo and passenger baggage
  • The candidates should be able to transport freight between aircraft and airport warehouse, sort and load cargo and passenger baggage according to instructions, position passenger loading stairs and operate aircraft cargo doors
  • The candidates should be able to marshall or tow aircraft to gate positions
  • The candidates should be able to drive and operate ramp-servicing vehicles and equipment, clean and prepare aircraft interior for passengers and wash aircraft exterior
