Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have a high level of work commitment, attention to detail and the ability to learn and follow procedures
  • The candidates should use powered lift equipment such as (electric pallet jack, slip sheet machine, reach truck, order puller, forklift)

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should fulfil minimum time in the position and performance management code requirements of V2 (or P3 in the previous system)
  • The candidates should possess excellent communication skills and customer service skills
  • The candidates should exhibit excellent decision-making ability and problem-solving skills
  • The candidates should have license of using powered lift equipment which may be used when unloading trucks and moving freight from receiving to designated staging areas

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to clean and maintain the receiving area, such as removing pallets and cardboard boxes from the floor, using a compactor and bailer, and clearing the area to make room for new merchandise
  • The candidates should be able to unload merchandise using designated equipment and schedule deliveries and pre-post information into the receiving system
  • The candidates should be able to identify and read vendor packing slips, carrier shipping documents, UPC labels, and other receiving documents, comparing them to purchase orders to ensure accuracy
  • The candidates should be able to count carton freight and RGR merchandise to satisfy the freight bill and follow appropriate procedures to ship and receive transferred merchandise and receive special orders (i.e., RGR, DGR), move them to the special order cage, and locate them in the system
  • The candidates should be able to identify damaged merchandise, take appropriate action on DGR merchandise on P.O., complete the DGR process, and enter detailed information into the receiving system by the end of the shift
  • The candidates should be able to research shipment/paperwork discrepancies and resolve scheduling or delivery issues/conflicts, maintain lift equipment and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for hazardous waste materials
  • The candidates should be able to move freight from receiving to designated staging areas using the appropriate equipment and communicate with the ASMs, Freight, and Fulfilment Teams to ensure merchandise is optimally staged
  • The candidates should be able to remove trash and empty pallets from the sales floor, maintain organized overheads and provide excellent customer service by using FIRST behaviours when on the sales floor
  • The candidates should be able to use appropriate equipment to safely bring merchandise down from overhead bays to the floor (pack-down) and place additional merchandise safely in overhead
  • The candidates should be able to unload merchandise from carriers and check the quantity and quality of merchandise, RGR (Rough Goods Receipt)/ DGR (Detail Goods Receipt) and enter information about incoming merchandise into the store’s computer system
