Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language.
Education: Candidates don’t need standard educational qualification such as high school, bachelor’s degree, a certificate or a diploma
Experience: Candidates should have experience with a personal computer to complete word processing and produce various typed materials
Other Requirements:
- The candidate should have the knowledge of multiple-line switchboard and receptionist procedures to respond to telephone inquiries, direct callers and process staff and inmate mail and also should be able to demonstrate professionalism, tact and courtesy to respond to telephone inquiries, direct callers and process staff and inmate mail
- The candidate should have the ability to acquire knowledge of institutional policies and procedures relating to the release of information for institutions
- The candidate should have the knowledge of relevant Canada Post regulations and mail and courier procedures and also should be able to prioritize incoming calls as well as recognize and act upon unusual calls
- The candidate should have analytical skills to identify incoming and outgoing mail and determine the correct destination of incorrectly addressed mail
- The candidate should have strong oral communication skills to screen and direct calls to the institution and interact with colleagues, outside callers and visitors.
- The candidate should be able to provide the required security check and the criminal record check
Responsibilities:
- The candidate should be able to screen and direct multiple-line telephone switchboard calls to the institution, transferring calls as required and also receive visitors and verify identification, notifying appropriate staff members of visitors
- The candidate should be able to coordinate video visits and booking of time slots with the public and stakeholders and also assist with coordination of face to face and in person visits
- The candidate should be able to process incoming and outgoing mail and also type a variety of material and compose routine correspondence
- The candidate should be able to file and maintain ongoing inventory and order stationery as required.
