Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 to less than 2 years
Credentials: Emergency child care first aid and CPR, food allergy and anaphylaxis training, member of the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE), early childhood education (ECE) certificate, first aid certificate, and CPR certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check, immunization records, and vulnerable sector check

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be comfortable working outdoors and able to work in noisy environments
  • The candidates should be non-smoking and able to work in air-conditioned environments
  • The candidates should be comfortable with repetitive tasks and physically capable of handling demanding tasks.
  • The candidates should demonstrate attention to detail and be able to adapt to a combination of sitting, standing, and walking during their duties
  • The candidates should be capable of bending, crouching, and kneeling as required

  • The candidates should demonstrate punctuality and dependability, possess efficient interpersonal skills, and have excellent oral and written communication
  • The candidates should demonstrate flexibility, interpersonal awareness, and reliability, and be willing to collaborate and be a team player
  • The candidates should uphold values and ethics, demonstrate creativity, be honest, and have the ability to multitask

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to assess the children’s development and prepare a tailored learning plan, as well as assist co-workers in housekeeping and cooking duties
  • The candidates should be able to bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers, develop and implement child-care programs, and maintain daycare equipment
  • The candidates should be able to engage in storytelling, supervise staff, trainees, or volunteers, and synthesize the overall situation of the children for communication with parents
  • The candidates should be able to assist early childhood educators, lead activities, and encourage children’s creativity through various media
  • The candidates should be able to guide children in proper habits, prepare snacks, and observe for signs of potential learning or behavioral problems, providing reports to parents or supervisors
  • The candidates should be knowledgeable about licensing regulations, establish behavior guidelines, and attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems
  • The candidates should establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers, plan and maintain a safe environment for children, and organize activities for school-age children
  • The candidates should supervise and coordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants
