Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English or French Language
Education: Candidates should have current B.C.L.S. (CPR) certification
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 1 year

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have ability to provide effective behavioural support and to intervene effectively in clinical situations requiring the management of disturbed behaviour

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be a registered member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario and possess
  • The candidate should have Vaccines (COVID-19 and others)
  •  The candidate should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills that enable you to develop the Nurse-Client relationship, provide family sensitive care, and work within a collaborative and diverse inter-professional team
  • The candidate should have effective leadership, decision-making, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • The candidate should have demonstrated ability to provide effective behavioral support and to intervene effectively in clinical situations requiring the management of disturbed behavior

Responsibilities:

  •  The candidate should be able to provide client-centered mental health, addiction and general nursing care to older individuals from diverse backgrounds with mental health and addiction issues
  •  The candidate should be able to ensure safety and security of the client care environment, and to practice in accordance with College of Nurses of Ontario professional standards, Canadian Standards for Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing and Gerontology, CAMH Policies and Procedures, and with the CAMH Practice Model of Care
  • The candidate should be able to perform assessments, develop, implement and evaluate the inter-professional plan of client care for older adults with complex mental health and addiction issues, with associated behavioral challenges, that may be complicated by physical health problems
