Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English and French Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a university degree in journalism
Experience: Candidates should have 3 years of experience experience in the relevant field

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should have the ability to work flexible hours and on weekends and ability to work with a variety of teams
  • The candidates should have a proven ability to work in a high-stress, tight-deadline environment and a critical mind

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be comfortable reporting live and excellent reporting and interviewing skills
  • The candidates should be bilingual in French and English and knowledge of Saskatchewan affairs and Franco-Saskatchewanian community issues
  • The candidates should have knowledge of CBC/Radio-Canada journalistic and programming policies
  • The candidates should have experience working on multiple projects simultaneously and knowledge of CBC/Radio-Canada production applications Dalet, Media Central, iNEWS
  • The candidates should have an understanding of the public broadcaster’s role and responsibilities
  • The candidates should possess a valid driver’s license as well as a driving record that meets the minimum requirements of CBC/Radio-Canada’s insurance company

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to handle live and taped reporting responsibilities for the Saskatoon newsroom
  • The candidates should be able to write and update stories for the website and pitch story ideas and conduct thorough research
  • The candidates should be able to write and present news stories on regional and national news programs
  • The candidates should be able to contribute to all editorial platforms, including writing web texts
