Education: Other trades certificate or diploma or equivalent experience
Experience:Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset.
Physical Requirements:
- The candidate will be required to perform work that is physically demanding.
- The candidate will be required to work in conditions like bending, crouching, and kneeling.
- The candidate will be required to handle heavy loads.
Other Requirements:
- The candidate must bring their own steel toed safety boots.
- The candidate must bring their own safety glasses or goggles.
- The candidate should have the ability to be a team player.
- The candidate should have the ability to be accurate.
- The candidate should have reliability.
- The candidate should have the ability to work in various locations.
- The candidate should have a Carpenter Trade License.
- The candidate should have a Carpenter Red Seal Certificate.
Responsibilities:
- The candidate will be required to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements
- The candidate will be required to measure materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials.
- The candidate will be required to cut materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials.
- The candidate will be required to shape materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials.
- The candidate will be required to assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials.
- The candidate will be required to build foundations.
- The candidate will be required to install floor beams.
- The candidate will be required to lay subflooring.
- The candidate will be required to erect walls and roof systems.
- The candidate will be required to perform construction works.
