Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates should have considerable experience in the relevant field

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have demonstrate a satisfactory safe driving record, be possess a valid permanent provincial driver’s license – class 5 or G
  • The candidates should provide a vehicle with a minimum cargo capacity of 50 cu ft (1415 liters) or 100 cu ft (2832 liters)
  • The candidates should ensure their vehicle has a metal roof-top and an accessory power outlet to accommodate a Canada Post sign and flashing light
  • The candidates should be able to provide a fifth door or hatchback to allow for oversized and bulky items to be loaded
  • The candidates should be able to provide and maintain the required automobile liability insurance for the use of their vehicle
  • The candidates should be able to notify their insurance company regarding the use of their vehicle while employed at Canada Post

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to sort, collect, and deliver mail items in a safe and timely manner
  • The candidates should be able to acquire and maintain knowledge of local infrastructure including roads, customers, and delivery receptacles, ensure mail is safely secured in their possession at all times
  • The candidates should be able to process various Canada Post Corporation products and services such as Change of Address Notification, Damaged Mail, and Items Delivered Bill (IDB
  • The candidates should be able to wear Canada Post identification during delivery and ensure it is visible when delivering and collecting mail from customers
  • The candidates should be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 lb (22.7 kg), demonstrate experience in making deliveries and operating a motor vehicle in all types of weather and traffic conditions
