Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completed Grade 12
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of six months to one year experience in the customer service or tourism and hospitality field

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be available for full-time work requiring 35 hours per week, with an irregular work schedule to accommodate event schedules
  • The candidates should be willing to work evenings and weekends as required, with seasonal overtime

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should know and understand all Health and Safety Guidelines
  • The candidates should possess a valid Standard First Aid Certificate with Level C CPR and knowledge of MS Office software and accurate data entry skills
  • The candidates should demonstrate the ability to work effectively as part of a team, handle multiple priorities, and show commitment to professionalism with a strong emphasis on customer service and communication skills
  • The candidates should be prepared to submit a current Police Record Check (dated within the past 3 months) from their local police service as a condition of employment, subject to approval by the Corporation prior to commencing employment
  • The candidates should consistently maintain a positive customer service approach, which is fundamental to the role

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to process in person and telephone ticket orders using the Theatre Manager ticketing system, including providing customer support for online sales processes
  • The candidates should be able to create and update ticketed events for sale on the Theatre Manager ticketing system and run ticketing reports and and follow up on group sales orders and maintain positive relationships with group clients
  • The candidates should be able to recommend and sell tickets and gift certificates based on the needs of the patron and the theatre’s seating arrangement and availability and perform daily till balancing of cash, debit, cheque, and credit cards, and prepare deposits for box office sales
  • The candidates should be able to provide training and support for new staff and keep other ticket sellers up to date on the ticketing system and and updates as required for authorized representatives of rental clients and artist management
  • The candidates should be able to act as the theatre’s reception area, providing and receiving information from patrons or clients and directing them to proper departments and and receiving duties for the theatre via Purolator
  • The candidates should be able to ensure the Box Office is securely locked and the Box Office alarm is activated at the end of the shift, and ensure that theatre doors are locked and the building alarm is activated when Box Office staff are the last to leave at the end of the day
  • The candidates should be able to ensure the Box Office is well stocked with needed items such as tickets, ticket jackets, brochures, and stationery supplies and mail out telephone ticket orders with receipt, ensuring all mailing information is accurate
  • The candidates should be able to maintain Box Office cleanliness with general housekeeping duties
  • The candidates should be able to provide out-of-town patrons with directions and information on hotel and dining options
  • The candidates should be able to coordinate with responsible Front of House supervisor and Artist Liaison to deliver reports and services to other work units and rental clients
