Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have 3-year diploma/degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Journalism, Media, Public Relations, or related field
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of 3-years experience in online marketing with focus on social media including business experience using enterprise social media software platforms including as Meltwater, Brandwatch and Hootsuite Enterprise

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have excellent oral and written communication skills and extensive branded content creation experience
  • The candidates should utilize their interpersonal skills to build working relationships and be well-versed in reputation management
  • The candidates should have experience in reputation management, communications, customer service, advertising, public relations, or online marketing
  • The candidates should have graphic design and content development experience
  • The candidates should have experience in social media analytics and reporting, as well as familiarity with email platforms such as Emma for engaging internal clients
  • The candidates should have experience crafting media campaigns for large-scale post-secondary initiatives and events
  • The candidates should have experience with various technologies such as social media Customer Relationship Management (CRM), monitoring and measurement, Google Analytics, and campaign tagging

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to support the implementation of Sheridan’s social media plan to support prospective and current student audiences
  • The candidates should be able to collaborate with stakeholders throughout Sheridan and drive the adoption of social media best practices and technologies across programs and departments
  • The candidates should be able to focus on content creation and provide guidance on social media policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • The candidates should be able to deliver social media training and interact with Sheridan’s audience in real time through core channels
  • The candidates should be able to act as a key liaison for the College, participating in online conversations to answer questions, offer solutions, mediate conversations, create content for feeds, and spark discussion on various social networking sites
  • The candidates should have demonstrated experience in reputation management, as social media is a highly complex and nuanced environment
  • The candidates should be able to work with Sheridan’s stakeholders in various Faculties and departments to implement social media best practices and technologies
  • The candidates should be able to proactively generate content for Sheridan’s main social channels to drive prospect and current student engagement with Sheridan’s social channels and to drive traffic to the main website and Sheridan Central
  • The candidates should be able to coordinate the prospective and current student social media editorial calendar, including takeovers
  • The candidates should be able to interact proactively with online communities on various platforms, including monitoring for potential issues requiring intervention and responding as needed
  • The candidates should be able to respond to inquiries and generate discussions while liaising with other departments such as the Contact Centre and International to optimize their social media responses
  • The candidates should be able to work with the Manager, Social Media to develop an ongoing communication strategy and publishing calendar based on Sheridan’s Strategic Plan and community feedback
  • The candidates should be able to support the creation of engaging and student-centric social media content to promote Sheridan’s key initiatives, events, and priorities as needed
  • The candidates should be able to deliver formal training to Sheridan staff in various Faculties and Departments to ensure they are knowledgeable in social media best practices
  • The candidates should be able to provide holistic analysis of Sheridan’s social media tactics to better understand how they can benefit the larger Communications plans; identifying goals and recommending channels and tactics to optimize the institution’s reach and impact
  • The candidates should be able to identify Sheridan advocates and storytellers to feature on Sheridan’s social media channels
  • The candidates should be able to perform other duties as assigned
