Blue Mountain Plastics based in Shelburne, ON is inviting applications from suitable candidates for the position of Sorter – recyclable materials. Blue Mountain Plastics is a pioneering force in sustainable plastic recycling. Their state-of-the-art facility in Shelburne serves as a hub for recycling operations, where a dedicated team works tirelessly to process and repurpose plastic materials, contributing to the circular economy. The candidates selected for the vacancy will be required to start the work as soon as possible.

Job Description:

Salary: $20.50 to $21.75 hourly (To be negotiated) 88 hours bi-weekly
Employment Type: Permanent employment Full time
Location: Shelburne, ON

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be able to tolerate odours and be comfortable working in dusty environments
  • The candidates should be able to work in noisy conditions and be adaptable to a fast-paced environment
  • The candidates should be able to handle repetitive tasks, capable of handling heavy loads and prepared for physically demanding tasks, able to stand for extended periods, work under pressure, and lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should demonstrate dependability, and reliability
  • The candidates should possess efficient interpersonal skills
  • The candidates should exhibit flexibility, and should be team players

Candidate Status:

  • Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
  • Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
  • If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to transport raw materials, finished products, and equipment throughout the plant manually or using powered equipment
  • The candidates should be able to sort, pack, crate, and package materials and products
  • The candidates should be able to assist machine operators, assemblers, and other workers
  • The candidates should be able to perform other laboring and elemental activities
  • The candidates should be able to clean machines and immediate work areas
  • The candidates should be able to report any malfunctions to the supervisor
  • The candidates should be able to ensure that the quality of products meets established standards
  • The candidates should be able to ensure adherence to safety regulations
