Requirements:
Languages:Â Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as college, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
Experience: Candidates should have experience of 2 years to less than 3 years
Credentials:Â Emergency child care first aid and CPR, Food allergy and anaphylaxis training, Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate, First Aid Certificate, Montessori Early Childhood Teacher Certificate, and CPR Certificate
Security and safety: Criminal record check, Child Abuse Registry check, and Vulnerable sector check
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to perform repetitive tasks, work in a physically demanding environment, and pay attention to detail
- The candidates should be able to work in a combination of sitting, standing, walking, and bend, crouch, and kneel
Other Requirements:
- The candidates should be punctual, be dependable, be efficient in interpersonal skills, be excellent in oral communication and be excellent in written communication
- The candidates should be flexible, be aware of interpersonal dynamics, be able to demonstrate good judgment, be reliable and be a team player
- The candidates should have strong values and ethics, be creative and be able to multitask
Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to bathe, diaper and feed infants and toddlers, and engage in storytelling
- The candidates should be able to assist early childhood educators in carrying out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children, and assist early childhood educators or supervisors in keeping records
- The candidates should be able to engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing crafts, and guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
- The candidates should be able to prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods, and have knowledge of licensing regulations
- The candidates should be able to plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children
