Requirements:
Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the French Language
Education:Â Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as a Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Credentials: Child Development Assistant (ECE Level 1), Child Development Supervisor (ECE Level 3), Child Development Worker (ECE Level 2), Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate, First Aid Certificate, and CPR Certificate
Security and safety:Â Criminal Record Check, Medical Exam, Immunization Records, Tuberculosis Test, and Vulnerable Sector Check
Physical Requirements:
- The candidates should be able to perform repetitive tasks, perform physically demanding tasks, and pay attention to detail
- The candidates should be able to handle a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, and bend, crouch, and kneel
- The candidates should be able to demonstrate manual dexterity

Responsibilities:
- The candidates should be able to bathe, diaper and feed infants and toddlers, and develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children
- The candidates should be able to lead activities by telling or reading stories, teaching songs and taking children to local points of interest, and encourage children to express creativity through the media of art, dramatic play, music and physical activity
- The candidates should be able to engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing crafts, and guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
- The candidates should be able to prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods, and observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor
- The candidates should be able to submit written observations on children to early childhood educators or supervisors, and discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings
- The candidates should be able to establish guidelines for behaviour, and attend staff meetings to discuss progress and problems of children
- The candidates should be able to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children, and plan and maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children
- The candidates should be able to plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours
