Salary: $20.00 to $30.00 hourly (To be negotiated) for 42.5 hours per week

Work setting: Commercial, industrial, and manufacture
Type of materials: Aluminum alloys, stainless steel, and steel, iron, and heavy metals

Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates need standard educational qualifications such as other trades certificate or diploma or equivalent experience
Experience: Candidates don’t need experience although having experience is an asset
Area of specialization: Custom fabrication and machinery or equipment repair
Equipment and machinery experience: Arc welding machine, butt or seam resistance welding machine, gas welding machine, soldering machine, and spot welding machine
Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots and welding helmet
Credentials: Welder Trade Red Seal Certificate
Security and safety: Basic security clearance and drug test

Physical Requirements:

• The candidates should be able to work in a fast-paced environment and possess manual dexterity
• The candidates should demonstrate attention to detail and exhibit hand-eye coordination
• The candidates should be capable of weight handling up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

Other Requirements:

• The candidates should demonstrate client focus and possess efficient interpersonal skills
• The candidates should have excellent oral communication and demonstrate flexibility
• The candidates should be organized and a team player

Candidate Status:

• Candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or temporary or permanent resident of Canada
• Candidate must have legal authorization (Work Permit) to work in Canada
• If Candidates are unable to fulfill above mentioned requirements, don’t apply for the position

Responsibilities:

• The candidates should be able to interpret welding process specifications and read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, specifications, manuals, and processes
• The candidates should be able to operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment and operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment
• The candidates should be able to examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications, and fit, braze, and torch-straighten metal
• The candidates should be able to operate brakes, shears, and other metal shaping, straightening, and bending machines, as well as operate oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air) (AOC)
• The candidates should be able to operate hoisting and lifting equipment and previously set-up brazing or soldering machines to bond metal or fill holes, indentations, and seams of metal
