Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have a degree or certificate related to land use, agriculture, science, environment, legal or administrative assistant
Experience: Candidates should have experience interpreting legislation, regulations and determining policy requirements

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • The candidates should be willing to travel with occasional overnight stays
  • The candidates should be capable of lifting 30 lbs

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should have a valid Manitoba Class 5F Drivers Licence
  • The candidates should be experienced in records management, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • The candidates should have experience in reviewing applications, circulating and collating comments as part of an application review process
  • The candidates should possess strong written communication skills with experience drafting, reviewing, editing, and managing correspondence such as (but not limited to) letters, memos, forms, and legal documents, agreements with accuracy and attention to detail
  • The candidates should have the ability to collect, analyze, and summarize data from a variety of sources using sound judgment and analytical skills and have experience handling sensitive and confidential documents and information
  • The candidates should demonstrate excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to speak in a clear, concise manner and possess excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to work in a high-pressure and time-sensitive environment
  • The candidates should have experience supervising staff, including providing mentorship, leadership, guidance, assigning work, performance, and attendance management
  • The candidates should have strong interpersonal skills to work with internal and/or external colleagues, clients, stakeholders and have experience using data management software applications
  • The candidates should be proficient in using Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and have experience in the development and implementation of policies and programs
  • The candidates should have knowledge of land management and planning principles with an ability to interpret legislation and policy

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to coordinate, research, and implement land transfer commitments between federal, provincial, municipal, and Indigenous governments, including vested lands with rural municipalities and Manitoba Hydro
  • The candidates should be able to prepare options, policy, and recommendations to enable department decisions concerning Crown land dispositions and projects involving Crown land allocations and exchanges
