Requirements:

Languages: Candidates must have knowledge of the English Language
Education: Candidates should have completion of a university degree in a health care or business discipline
Experience: Candidates should have a minimum of five years of recent experience in a related supervisory, management, or leadership role

Physical Requirements:

  • The candidates should possess a valid driver’s license with the ability to travel

Other Requirements:

  • The candidates should be aware that an equivalent combination of training and experience
  • The candidates should have experience working in a unionized environment and experience working in a regulated environment

Responsibilities:

  • The candidates should be able to evaluate, plan, and ensure the allocation of an appropriate number of trained, competent staff and supplies or equipment at blood collection donation events and to ensure excellent customer service is provided
  • The candidates should be able to develop efficient schedules, review performance, and make adjustments to help ensure collection targets and hospital demand are met in the most cost-effective manner
  • The candidates should be able to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of operations by attending donation events and analyzing data to continuously improve staffing models, donor flow, and collection processes while maintaining customer service
  • The candidates should be able to coach direct reports in continuous quality improvement and the implementation of best practice standards, as well as mentor them in effective problem-solving, conflict resolution, and other leadership skills
  • The candidates should be able to liaise with the Quality Assurance department to promote and implement a continuous quality improvement cycle
  • The candidates should be able to support and assist direct reports to resolve performance issues and provide support for disciplinary action and follow-up
